Arriving to Florence

From Pisa airport

It is possible to reach Florence main train station Santa Maria Novella either by bus or by train.

BUS: The bus Terravision leaves from Pisa airport for €4.99 and takes approximately 1 hour to reach Florence.

TRAIN: A train connects Pisa airport to Pisa main train station, where trains to Florence regularly pass. It takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Florence by train. More information here.

From Bologna airport

From Bologna airport, you can reach Florence also by bus or by train:

BUS: The Appenino shuttle leaves approximately every 2 hours and taking around 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Florence, costing between €20-25.

TRAIN: The bus “Aerobus” is available outside the airport. It will bring you to Bologna Central train station (it takes approximately 20 minutes and costs €6). From the train station, there are trains to Florence leave every 20-30 minutes, taking up to 40 minutes to reach Florence’s main train station Santa Maria Novella. From Stazione “Arrivi” > Take bus number 17 to Stazione “Venezia”

From Stazione “Venezia” > Take bus number 7 to Stazione “San Domenico 1 – Universita Europea”

Walk to the EUI following Piazza San Domenico to the north, and turning left on Via della Via dei Roccettini 9 (around 10 minutes walk).

From Florence airport

The airport is located 8 km from the city centre (approximately 20 minutes by taxi or bus).

Taxis can normally be found outside the airport. Alternatively you can call: (+39)055/4390 or (+39)055/4242.

The airport is also connected to Florence city centre (main train station Santa Maria Novella) by an airport shuttle bus service Vola-in-bus that leaves every 30 minutes.
